Meerkat Manor | Confessions of a T.V. Junkie

I’ve been reading some random blogs, when I stumble upon an article about Meerkat Manor, a documentary series in Animal Planet. I’ve seen trailers of it but I never really bothered to watch.

Usually most documentaries bore me, but this one seem to be different. The narrative is presented in a soap opera-ish style with real-life Meerkats and actual events. It follows a Meerkat family in the Kalahari Desert called the Whiskers. How cute is that, they have names too! Names like Flower, Zaphod, Mozart etc … The series originated in the U.K. with Bill Nighy as the narrator. Later on it was picked up in Australia, Canada and the US.

What intrigued me was that it’s a soap/documentary and Bill Nighy is one of the narrators and the names! I just can’t get over how cute it is. Plus the Meerkats are more interesting than any reality show there is, like The Real world or Big Brother.
