Smallville Season 7 Episode 20 : Artic - Season Finale Spoiler
Here is a spoiler for the season ender of smallville.
LEX DISCOVERS CLARK’S SECRET — Kara (Laura Vandervoort) tells Lex (Michael Rosenbaum) he is destined to defeat the Traveler and offers to take him to the Fortress to learn how. Clark (Tom Welling) is stunned that Kara would go to Lex but it is revealed that Brainiac is impersonating Kara and she’s actually trapped in the Phantom Zone. Chloe is arrested by the Department of Domestic Security and Lana awakens from her comatose state. Meanwhile, in an epic turn of events, Clark and Lex face off in the Fortress and Lex learns Clark’s secret.
Erica Durance and Aaron Ashmore also star. Todd Slavkin directed the episode written by Don Whitehead & Holly Henderson

The ending sucked and could have been written better. My main beef with the writers of this series is they constantly have Clark second-guessing himself too much, always too unsure of what he should do. Many of the problems he faces could be easily resolved but are always made worse by his constant second guessing himself. The writers really need to stop this. There are a thousand ways Clark with his super powers could have easily found the secret keys or discovered what Lex was up to at any time and stopped him from doing harm. With super hearing he could easily just tapped into Lex’s private converations from a mile away and heard what he was up to. Yet Clark acts like he’s done all he could to stop Lex. Hogwash. This kind of poor writing which ignores the obvious makes me sick. Clark’s character should be smarter than this. I hope Season 8 is written better.

The season 7 finale was very dissapointing to me.. All this hype throughout the seasons and the amazing rival scenes between Clark and Lex to come to a 30 second showdown?? If Lex isn’t returning next season, the whole rivalry between the two was really all for nothing. I was so excited for the moment when Clark faced Lex and Lex finally learns his secret but the Fortress scene lacked tension and build up.. The special effects were poor, and as the person above mentionned, Clark seemed to be second guessing himself way too much and doesn’t seem to have any kind of hero appeal. Im starting to see him as a bit of a wimp. Its too bad that Lex isnt coming back, I can only imagine how the next season will suffer without him. They should have ended the season this year, it would have been so much better than dragging the show on and on. At least I still have Lost to rely on, theres a show that doesnt let you down!

hey they need to let Welling direct more shows. (WHY) you ask he directs whith more of a classic superman feel, you can tell he spent some time with the late Chris Reeves. in the episode i am talking about, clark (tom welling) did the hole” finger push up the glasses thing” CLASSIC i saw the supperman from back in the 80s which is what i grew up with. “Tom Welling ” you need to do more directing, in fact i see your career behind the camera, not till we see the true love bloom between clark and lois.

LANA your too sappy, get real. dont be afraid of being ugly, kinda getting sick of the story line with clana move on make her into a VILLIAN…. she needs to buddie up whith Zod. make her Zods companion.. she could pass for the girl from the classic supperman. When Zod took over the world, supperman gave up his powers to spend some time with lois. COME ON PEOPLE… lana cut your hair, i want a hard core look a feminin foe hauk. WHOS WHITH ME.
