Reaper Theory.
This theory is from my friend Tom.
In the season finale of Reaper the escaped fortune teller revealed 3 “The Devil” Tarot cards. I think these represent The Devil, Sam’s dad, and Sam himself. Making Sam the Devil’s Grandson. His father must had wanted to live as a mortal (but not mortal) and didn’t want to be the next in line. The Devil probably didn’t think he was up to the task and decided a grandson would be a better fit. If it had just been 2 devil cards, I’d say it was the Devil and Sam was his son.
Regardless of whether that is correct or not, I am convinced that Sam’s father is at least demon. As to why Sam’s brother isn’t devilish, I’d say he takes after the mother who I am assuming is mortal.
