Papadum Preach!

Welcome to the Church of the Holy Cabbage. Lettuce pray.Author Unknown

My mom and I felt adventurous today. We went to this Persian restaurant called Persian Palate. We always wondered what their food was like but never really dared to try. So today we went in, I was the more adventurous one because I ordered something I haven’t heard of like Papadum and Iskender Kebab while my mom ordered Shawarma which she already had  only not in that restaurant. I was really surprised how yummy the food was.

The Papadum or Papad is spicy and crunchy. It’s a thin toasted bread like a flatbread or maybe it is a flatbread. I’m not sure what’s in it but I looked it up and Wikipedia said that it’s made from lentil, chickpea, black gram or rice flour. It comes with a yummy mango sauce that you dip the papads into. The sweetness of the mango sauce really compliments the spiciness of it.

The Iskender Kebab looks like a small pizza. From what i gather it’s made up of pita bread, beef, some sauce that I think is a spicy tomato sauce, yogurt and spices. It’s yummy too and most of all cheap. :P

I will definitely go back there.
