No Reservations.

Bourdain Promo Images A Travel Channel show called No Reservations stars the famed bad boy chef and author Anthony Bourdain, it is very interesting and entertaining. It takes a New Yorker attitude towards food and tourism as he travels off the beaten path experiencing what the real locals do in their everyday lives. Totally relinquishing himself from the western school of thought and embracing the other cultures like some sort of a culinary Indiana Jones as he gets himself into some faux pas situations. Watching as he attempts to muster finesse while he humbly accepts humility and at times shows bravery as he goes all out and tries whatever food, drink, or activity that comes his way is everything from hilarious to heartwarming. He gives a male perspective of travel and food as he critiques, plays, and immortalizes the experiences in his journals both video and written. Often, he leaves as a slightly different person than he was when he had entered, having added to his spirituality in some profound way. He is the anti Rachael Ray, in that he is the most extreme opposite of her as one can get. Give him an indigenous brew of coffee served by a street vendor over Starbucks or Dunkin Donuts any day. He had another great show which is almost the same that airs on Food Network called A Cook’s Tour, the key difference being the focus on food more than the travel. Anthony Bourdain is well known for his best selling book Kitchen Confidential, a favorite among chefs which is considered essential reading for anyone interested in the culinary arts.
