Is Hannah Montana Canceled?
News has been going around that Hannah Montana has been axed by Disney. Sources wrote this:
She (Miley Cyrus) said in a interview ” The past 3 series have been great. My dad and I have been a good team and became closer. I was recently talking with the crew and they said that Hannah Montana is going off air this Spring. They believe they should make room for new shows and give people a new career with Disney. I am very upset and bewildered by this. I wish everyone luck in the cast. It has been a once in a lifetime ride through the show.
Disney spokeswoman Janey Moore has confirmed this is true. ” I am very happy that people will start a new life with Disney. Hannah Montana is unforntunatly getting axed. The cast are very upset by this. ”
Hannah Montana fans will be told the news on the Disney Channel USA and UK in Febuary this year.
Disney could have milked this show for at least one more season. If this is true, then I think Disney is making a huge mistake. What do you think?
UPDATE (2/01/2008): There was an article in wiki answers that rebuffed the interview above. He said that Hannah Montana isn’t going to be cancelled! Read the article:
Hannah Montana is NOT being cancelled, all of the reports that hit the internet in the end of January 2008 are false, including the so-called comments from the Disney Channel Representitive. The following article can provide further clarity on the issue.
A rumor hit the Internet earlier today that Disney Channel had cancelled Hannah Montana. The “news story” even quoted Miley Cyrus saying “the past three years have been great.” Well, I CONFIRMED with a Disney representative (you know I love hooking you up with THE TRUTH) and I got my answer: “The internet reports are COMPLETELY FALSE, including comments from the fictitious Disney Channel spokeswoman Janey Moore,” the rep told me.
So, this means there are still going to be new Hannah episodes coming your way, as well as a big screen movie from Walt Disney Studios. Woohoo!

They show Cory in the House, which isn’t as big as Hannhah Montana…its really stupid of disney, if you ask me…but like i said, i don’t really like miley, but she didn’t deserve to have her show ripped out from under her.

Oh wow. Well, Miley Cyrus is kind of whorish and not a good example for young kids. I mean, yesterday, I’m reading the newspaper, and they called her “sexy but wholesome”… which is an oxymoron of course. She’s 15, she can’t be sexy. If you honestly take Hannah Montana off of the air, then Disney will lose a lot of views. I haven’t met one person who has said they don’t watch Hannah Montana. I know 20 year olds that watch Hannah Montana, no joke. Everybody loves Miley and if you take her off the air, then you are losing and upsetting a lot of fans and young(and even old) viewers.

I find it rather annoying seeing that girls face EVERYWHERE but lets face it, Disney is a marketing genius! and there are millions of little girls out there that prove that everyday.
They LOVE hannah montana. I mean, lets just discuss how much those tickets went for this past fall for her SOLD OUT concert. CRAZY. They could have milked this for one more season at least. I know they’re making a movie, maybe as a farewell? Kind of like, Lizzie McGuire did before her?

Well, I think that this is just irresponsible of Miley Cyrus. I can see both sides of the story. I, myself, do not like the show Hannah Montana, but I understand it is one of the most popular shows now. For Disney Channel to cancel it is outrageous just because Miley took a few slut like pictures. But then again, Miley is pretty much the number one person for young girls to look up to, and Miley can’t be acting this way in her position. Disney will really disappoint a lot of fans in the process of canceling Hannah Montana, but then again, it’s unacceptable for Miley to be taking photos of herself like this.
