I’m Back!
Confession
I’m a cheater! I was out of town for 12 days and I asked my friend Tom to post articles for me so it wouldn’t get too boring around here. He did a good job too. From Halloween T.V. and Treats to Squidoo, that was all him. He even pretended to be me lol
. So props to him. Yay! Thanks Tom!
Pussy-cat, Pussy-cat where have you been?
I’ve been to London to look at the Queen. Heh. I went to my grandparents town. Sad to say, my 80-year old grandfather was hospitalized. He’s got this condition called Polycythemia, where there is an overproduction of red blood cells. So, once a month he has to have a Phlebotomy where a medical technician extracts 400 cc of blood from him. What happened is, this stupid idiot of a medtech used an 18 gauge needle in extracting blood, which is a big needle for my grandfather who is old and frail. My grandfather even told her that she should use a 20 gauge (smaller than 18), mind you my grandfather is a doctor so he knows what he’s talking about. But the dim-witted medtech named Annie didn’t listen. She went ahead and used the 18 gauge needle. And as predicted by my grandpa, the needle wouldn’t fit, but she kept on puncturing his arm until blood squirted all over and spilled on his muscles causing a hematoma. This is what his arm looked like 2 weeks after the incident.

I wasn’t there when his arm looked worse. The inflammation was bigger than that and blacker.
Lawsuit
The hospital didn’t charge my grandpa, but everyone in my family was pissed even the doctors in that town. The hospital must be scared to death because this is a very big case, especially since their victim is a fellow doctor. We wanted to file a case against Annie, but then we heard that she’s a breast cancer patient and she’s just biding her time till she dies. That softened our hearts a bit. So we opted not to pursue it. But then, we heard that she doesn’t even have a license! That’s a different story. Cancer patient or not, it’s wrong for her and the hospital to let her practice without a license. She justified that she has an 8 year experience under her belt. If she’s that experienced, why didn’t she just take the licensure exam? We’ve decided to file a case against the hospital since they’re the ones who hired her.
From Bad to Worst
We transferred my grandpa to a better hospital, but on the day we transferred him my grandmother had gastroenteritis. She had diarrhea and was vomiting. So she was hospitalized too.
Whew! What a tough couple of weeks. I was running everywhere, doing errands for both my grandparents and taking care of them.
Although both of them are a little better now, we still have to think of the lawsuit. I am dead set on pursuing the case, but I have to consider the rest of the family’s decision.
