House : Thirteen Getting Fired?

There’s this rumor going around that Remy Hadley a.k.a Thirteen, played by actress Olivia Wilde, will get fired in season 5 episode 5.  A journalist from an Italian magazine was interviewing Hugh Laurie on the set caught a glimpse of a scene where House was firing Thirteen.

I don’t really care for Thirteen.  It doesn’t really bother me if she gets fired or not.  I just want the original team back.   They were the best.  I don’t know why they broke it up in the first place.  I mean yeah, the survivor thing was pretty entertaining but when it was over the new team weren’t that interesting anymore.

How about you guys?  What do you think?  Would it bother you if the rumor was true?

She’s in episode 8 cos that’s the episode they were filming when Access Hollywood shot the Emmy reactions video and she was there.

I don’t care if she goes. I want more old team, less new team. Even if the old team are not working for House.

I agree with Kate. I want more of Chase and Cameron and a LOT less of 13, Taub, and Kutner. Personally, I don’t care about Foreman either way. I think the firing will just be a stunt to get the audience’s hopes up and then we’ll have the rug jerked out from underneath us before the episode is even over. The new characters, the lack of Chase and Cameron, and the over-the-top antics made Season 4 a far cry from the intelligent show I enjoyed for 3 years prior.

I heard that she gets fired for 10 minutes and then House hires her back again. And my hopes for getting some time for Cameron and Chase are crushed yet again.

I agree, I don’t care if Thirteen stays or goes but the new team does nothing for me and I want the old team back, as the team, as attendings, as consultants, whatever I can get. I thought the show was much better in the first three seasons an d I miss that show.

I, personally, don’t mind Thirteen. I like both her and Kutner– and as far as firing goes, I’d rather see Taub out of the picture. I do love the old team, but I don’t think they should be the focus of the show.

I heard it’s just a short term thing, not a contract breaker for the actress, which is fine with me. I’m looking forward to the storyline they’ve set up for her. I’d rather see that than any more “does she have a crush on House” from Cameron. If they can’t find Cam a new storyline, then that’s the character to cut.

I’m dreading the thought of seeing MORE Thirteen. We already saw too much of her last season. I simply cannot find myself caring about any of her mysteries or her illness, or how she relates to House. I’m also tired of getting my hopes up - and then crushed - everytime House “fires” Thirteen.

As for Cameron, I’m always sorry to see people still define her character by a “crush” that died out at the end of the first season - THREE years ago. If she is going to be accused of continuing “the crush” everytime she shows an interest in House’s well-being, then Wilson and Cuddy must also have crushes on House as well. There is no reason why Cameron should NOT care about House.

Cameron’s character -and Chase’s - still has plenty of mileage yet. If the writers can come up with 63 different silly storylines for Thirteen in 15 episodes, they can come up with something for Cameron and Chase.

If Shore and Jacobs actually cared what the vast majority of their fanbase seem to think of the character 13, she’d be out by episode 5 for certain. But they don’t and she won’t be. Personally I’d love it as I might then be able to return to watching the show I adored for 3 seasons. As it is, House acts so out-of-character around 13 that I feel as if I’m watching bad fanfic in action.
