Morning Comes

DexterDexter is losing control. That annoying Lila chick is ruining everything instead of helping him recover. Turned out that Lila is an obsessive stalker who would do everything even burn her apartment just to get Dexter’s attention. It worked for a while, but in episode 8, Morning Comes, he finally found out what’s been going on. He finally got rid of her. Oh, he didn’t kill her, he just dumped her.

On top of all that, Doakes found Dexter’s “stash”! His collection of blood from those criminals he murdered. Lundy mentioned to Doakes that there was a blood work error on one of the cases of the victims of the Bay Harbor Butcher. Doakes finally put the pieces together, that being a vigilante serial killer is what Dexter is hiding.

If things couldn’t get any worse, Lundy, Batista, and Debra confirmed that the Bay Harbor Butcher is one of them. A vehicle of one of the victims was confiscated and parked in the evidence lot. Someone signed it out, picked Rodrigo(the victim) up, killed him and returned the vehicle. And the only one who could do that is a member of the Miami Police Department.

How would Dexter get out of this one?

It’s Alive!

Debra Morgan, “There might be a new mass murderer out there, way worse than the Ice Truck Killer“.

DexterFinally! A season premiere worth the wait!

Everything seems to be falling apart for Dexter. He hasn’t been able to quench his thirst for murder for 36 or so days since he killed his brother, because Doakes keeps following him. And when he finally did get around to kill some blind guy, he flaked. He can’t get himself to plunge the knife into his victim. He was so agitated that he can’t even “perform” for Rita.

He tried to kill somebody again after tricking Doakes on leaving him alone. This time it was a mountain of a man, that he had to use two doses of that paralyzing syringe. But he underestimated the strength of the huge guy. The guy escaped from the duck tape Dexter used to bind him. And to top it all off, when he got home, he found out that his dumping spot was discovered by treasure hunters! The spot where he gets rid of his victims and the instruments he used to off them.

Finally Dexter felt alive.

At first I couldn’t see the connection between the episode title “It’s Alive” with the episode storyline. But as I was writing it, I had a light bulb moment. It’s a reference to his heart. As a teenager he almost jumped off a building just to feel alive, to feel his heart beating fast. And when his dumping spot was all over the news, he finally experienced it.

Dexter In A Different Laboratory

Dexter Morgan,The only real question I have is why in a building full of cops, all supposedly with a keen insight to the human soul, is Doakes the only one who gets the creep from me.

I almost forgot about Dexter. How could I almost forget about Dexter? This show is bloody, bloody awesome!

Dexter (the other Dexter) is a forensic blood spatter analyst for the Miami Dade Police. He is a supportive brother and a loving boyfriend by day and a serial killer by night. His late foster father, a cop too, found out about his thirst for murder when he was a teenager. He trained Dexter how to cover his tracks and to kill only criminals who had escaped justice.

When Dexter was a toddler, he and his brother witnessed a gruesome crime against their mother and some other people. They were trapped inside a storage container for two days in a pool of blood. Both Dexter and Brian (his older brother) suffered irreparable psychological damage.

This show is based on Jeff Lindsay’s series of novels Darkly Dreaming Dexter, Dearly Devoted Dexter and Dexter in the Dark.

At first I thought it was boring, but when I really get to watch it…damn it’s gruesome and creepy! What caught my attention was Dexter being a blood spatter expert and a serial killer, talk about original.

Can’t wait for season 2. It premiers September 30, 2007.
