I recently saw this movie called September Dawn, a film based on a true story about the Mountain Meadows Massacre. Although the incident remained to be unsolved, the movie portrayed how 120 unarmed men, women, and children were murdered by a group of Mormon settlers at Mountain Meadows in Utah Territory. This terrible act of terrorism happened on September 11, 1857. Same date as the more famous massacre, the day the World Trade Centers went down. It got me thinking, is the date September 11 somehow cursed?
I got curious and dug up more on what else happened on this particular date. I found another massacre this time in Ireland, the September 11, 1649 Massacre of Drogheda under Oliver Cromwell. Another religiously inspired act of violence. It got me questioning again, this time about the hypocrisy of it all. All religious beliefs openly preach peace and love. I haven’t heard even one religious faith that teaches otherwise, yet almost all tragedies and violence and war involves religion. How twisted is that?
Don’t get me wrong, I’m a Christian and I am proud to be one. But that doesn’t mean I condone and turn a blind eye on those so called Christians in the old days or even now who murders people in the name of God. That’s just crazy and contradictory. And anyone who falls for a leader who preaches God and mass murder at the same time is stupid. As what our pastor always say “Chew up the meat, spit out the bone“. Don’t eat out everything that is handed out to you. Think for yourself.
I know some people might find this subject offensive or may have some different opinions as I have OR can even write it more articulately (sadly this article is just a mess lol I’m a scatter brain when I’m all riled up). By all means comment up.
Here are some Wikipedia links that might be useful on this particular subject:

I been browsing through laptops trying to figure out what one I should get to replace my desktop. There are tons of brands out there and some affordable ones like Everex, Acer, Dell, Alienware, and many more. I was really hoping for a MacBook or better yet a MacBook Pro. But sadly, I cannot afford it. It has all the power one could want for at least a couple years. I’m sure there are tons of PC users that would disagree with my thinking Apple products are better. True Alienware products are powerful, maybe it’s just because I’ve always wanted a Mac. I need something for programming, graphic design, photography applications, and to act as my multimedia center since well… my T.V. is old and dying I need a Television upgrade. Since HD T.V.’s cost a fortune and I’m wanting a new camera and a laptop, I might as well plan on getting the best multitasker I can. I’d love to hear some tech recommendations if anyone wants to comment.

It’s officially Halloween and I’ve already seen adults and children dressed up as pirates, fairies, and so far my favorite was a cute little baby as a bee. I’ve noticed a lot of the costumes for young girls and women look rather trashy and totally inappropriate for the younger kids. Girls dressed as Britney in way too short mini skirts. I think it’s a shame that Britney Spears and Paris Hilton are role models. From sex tapes to child neglect and yet they are the elite socialites. No one would care about Paris if she wasn’t the heir to the vast fortunes of the Hilton Hotel Empire. She herself never earned or built the successful chain. She is just popular for her obnoxious antics and partying irresponsibly. Parents that allow their kids to admire and pretend to be these celebrities are sending all kinds of wrong messages. Sorry for the rant, I had to get it out of my system.

I’ve been looking at cams and other people’s photography lately and my lust for pro digital cameras have once again been revived. I want a Nikon D40 or a Canon Rebel Xti.
Better start saving.

I’m thinking of putting up a poll in here and a forum. The forum will be discussions about T.V. shows, celebrities, soundtracks and etc. I also wanted to start a community website, I’m not sure how to go about it yet, but i need help for sure.
What do you think? Should I go for it? Which one the poll, forum or community site or all?

“The test of the morality of a society is what it does for its children.” Dietrich Bonhoeffer.
I watched Criminal Minds last night. It was about a 7 year old or so child being imprisoned inside a small room without windows, just a lamp, his toy soldier and a surveillance camera. He was being auctioned off in the Internet, sold for the highest bidder. It turned out that the kid was kidnapped when he was still 1 year old and the unsub (Unknown Subject Of An Investigation) abused him until he had a close call with the FBI that he had to get rid of him.
It infuriated me so much that it brought me to tears. It’s just that we get so immersed with our own lives that we sometimes forget what’s going on around us. And shows or news like these reminds us and bring us back to reality.
I am well aware of how people can be cruel, but I still can’t comprehend those who abuse children and why they do it. Take this statistics for instance:
“In 1975 alone, 166 infants less than a year old were murdered, 327 children between the ages of one and four were murdered, 142 children between the ages of five and nine were murdered, and 205 children between the ages of ten and fourteen were murdered. These numbers, taken from the FBI’s Uniform Crime Reports for that year … 460,000 to 750,000 children were beaten to the point of injury by their parents. More dramatically, 46,000 were threatened or injured by their parents with a gun or knife.” James W. Prescott, Ph.D
It just got me thinking that those 460,000 to 750,000 who survived would not only be physically damaged but psychologically as well to the point that the abused themselves would either become a murderer, a violent alcoholic or another abuser. No wonder why crime never stop. It’s a cycle. I really don’t think that there’s anything anyone can do about it. It’s a lost cause unless people become one of those sci-fi movies where they are brainwashed and controlled. I don’t see that happening either.
Sad.
