I know a lot of critics thought this movie sucks, but I beg to differ. I love it. First of all, August Rush is all about the music and the movie delivered. The music is amazing and the cinematography just fits perfectly. The plot was just simple. It’s about an orphaned boy, Evan Taylor a.k.a August Rush (Freddie Highmore), who uses music as a way of finding his parents. Both of his parents are musicians. His mother, Lyla Novacek (Keri Russell), a young cellist and his father, Louis Connelly (Jonathan Rhys Meyers), an Irish rock star met at a party one night and fell in love. But Lyla’s music career was on the rise, so her father forbade her to see Louis. Lyla got pregnant from that chance encounter with Louis. But she got into an accident. Her father told her that her baby died, but not until her dad’s death bed did she found out that her father gave her baby up for adoption.
The movie is all of their journey in finding one another. It is a little far fetched, I admit…okay a lot. But I think that’s the point of the movie, it’s like a modern musical fairy tale set in New York.
Here is the movie’s soundtrack:

I’m feeling the emo vibe. So here’s a song by Typecast called Will You Ever Learn. Been learning how to play it on my guitar. Speaking of, I miss my guitar which I called Chris. It broke like a week ago. It was my first guitar ever. I had it for more than 7 years. So this goes out to my old faithful Chris. You will be missed.

Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails ( NIN ) rocks! This quote is straight from NIN’s blog entitled A Suggestion :
“While the music industry is doing everything they possibly can to go out of business, can we all make sure to rid ourselves of the Grammys, too? Out of touch old men jacking each other off.
ENOUGH!
Have a nice day.“
FYI: NIN wasn’t in the current Grammy Awards nomination list. So far they won 2 Grammy Awards and has been nominated eight times.
I really didn’t go to youtube much ’till now. I’m amazed at the number of undiscovered talents out there. Here is the most rockin’ cover of Irreplaceable by Beyonce. Never really liked the original, it’s over played on the radio. But this cover is awesome. I like this one better. Enjoy!
If you liked that, you can listen to her original music here. Her band is called Gregory and the Hawk.
Whoa I can’t believe I haven’t heard of Angels and Airwaves until now! I’ve always been a Blink 182 and Boxcar Racer fan and I was pretty dismayed when I heard about Blink’s break up. But now I’m so happy Tom DeLonge never stopped making music. Here are some of the songs from both Angel and Airwaves two albums We Don’t Need to Whisper (2006) and the newly released album I-Empire. Also watch out for the band’s documentary/sci-fi film called Start The Machine, used to be called AvA.
I was watching I’m Reed Fish earlier. It was an okay semi-indie film. All about the love and love lost of Reed Fish, set in a small town of Mud Meadows. But what I’m really excited about right now is the song From Where I’m Standing by the actress turn musician Schuyler Fisk. I’m sure you’ve seen her somewhere. The first time I seen her was in Babysitter’s Club. I was shocked when she sang, I never knew she could. I love the song, especially the acoustic. Here you could listen to it.
Oh and while I was looking for the video, I found this girl in YouTube with an Amazing voice and talent. Here’s her version of From Where I’m Standing.
From where i’m standing
you’re the quiet side of the road
you’re looking so lonely
and i can’t stop looking at you
your head is hanging
trying to beat those goodbye blues
i bet you’ll be fine
i bet you’ll be fine
i guess it’s not the way
you always planned it
looks like you’re heading for a
crash landing
that’s just the way it looks
from where i’m standing
from where i’m standing
from where i’m standing
i think i caught your eye
are you looking at me
cause i swear i saw you smile
and i’m coming over
gonna take things off your mind
and i bet you’ll be fine
and i bet you’ll be fine
i guess it’s not the way
you always planned it
looks like you’re heading for a
crash landing
that’s just the way it looks
from where i’m standing
from where i’m standing
let it fall
let it come down
let it crash around you
around you
i guess it’s not the way
you always planned it
looks like you’re heading for a
crash landing
that’s just the way it looks
from where i’m standing
that’s just the way it looks
from where i’m standing
from where i’m standing
i might make you mine
i might make you mine
from where i’m standing
LMAO My Name is Earl’s recent episode Creative Writing is hilarious. Darnell’s imagination is the best though. I didn’t know he could sing like that. Here you can watch it:
It’s not like they meant to hurt me
Watching TV, checking Britney, televised, my guys
Checking out her thighs and I roll my eyes and sigh
It’s not like I even need to be competing with unreality TV, fantasy
Not for a smart girl like me
Some days it’s hard to be a one girl revolution
[Chorus:]
Sometimes I have good days and it’s good to be me
Sometimes I get the best of insecurity
And it’s quite alright to be the one and only
But today I feel like the one and lonely
It’s not that I don’t know beauty is only skin deep
Just the skin I’m in, not the girl within
But one imperfection takes away my grin,
Not that I think I’m ugly, but
Acne throws me for a backslide
I won’t go outside
Makeup can’t hide how I feel inside
Some days it’s hard to be a one girl revolution
[Chorus]
Oh, the one and lonely
We all have bad hair days
Those nothing good about me days
Just keep moving on cause they’ll be gone
And we’ll still be here going on
We have our yesterdays
No lunch cause the jeans don’t fit days
Just keep moving on cause they’ll be gone
And we’ll still be here going on
[Chorus 2:]
Sometimes I have bad days and it’s hard to be me,
Sometimes I get brought down by insecurity
And I have my days where I’m the one and lonely
But today I choose to be the one and only
Yeah, I’m the one and only
**Who the heck is George Lindemann?! Turned out that he’s a guy from La Jolla California. His last name sounds like Linderman though, you know from Heroes. Bah anyway, check him out yourself at eSpin The Bottle. But whoever you are, you’re still paying for this post, so thanks dude.
I’ve been listening to somebody else’s playlist in ProjectPlaylist.com when suddenly Wear Sunscreen by Baz Luhrmann came on. I haven’t heard this song for years! It has a funny and truthful lyrics. If you haven’t heard it already, let me share it to you. Listen to it and read the lyrics below.
Ladies and Gentlemen of the class of ’99
If I could offer you only one tip for the future, sunscreen would be
it. The long term benefits of sunscreen have been proved by
scientists whereas the rest of my advice has no basis more reliable
than my own meandering
experience…I will dispense this advice now. Enjoy the power and beauty of your youth; oh nevermind; you will not
understand the power and beauty of your youth until they have faded.
But trust me, in 20 years you’ll look back at photos of yourself and
recall in a way you can’t grasp now how much possibility lay before
you and how fabulous you really looked….You’re not as fat as you
imagine. Don’t worry about the future; or worry, but know that worrying is as
effective as trying to solve an algebra equation by chewing
bubblegum. The real troubles in your life are apt to be things that
never crossed your worried mind; the kind that blindside you at 4pm
on some idle Tuesday. Do one thing everyday that scares you Sing Don’t be reckless with other people’s hearts, don’t put up with
people who are reckless with yours. Floss Don’t waste your time on jealousy; sometimes you’re ahead, sometimes
you’re behind…the race is long, and in the end, it’s only with
yourself. Remember the compliments you receive, forget the insults; if you
succeed in doing this, tell me how. Keep your old love letters, throw away your old bank statements. Stretch Don’t feel guilty if you don’t know what you want to do with your
life…the most interesting people I know didn’t know at 22 what they
wanted to do with their lives, some of the most interesting 40 year
olds I know still don’t. Get plenty of calcium. Be kind to your knees, you’ll miss them when they’re gone. Maybe you’ll marry, maybe you won’t, maybe you’ll have children, maybe
you won’t, maybe you’ll divorce at 40, maybe you’ll dance the funky
chicken on your 75th wedding anniversary…what ever you do, don’t
congratulate yourself too much or berate yourself either – your
choices are half chance, so are everybody else’s. Enjoy your body,
use it every way you can…don’t be afraid of it, or what other people
think of it, it’s the greatest instrument you’ll ever
own.. Dance…even if you have nowhere to do it but in your own living room. Read the directions, even if you don’t follow them. Do NOT read beauty magazines, they will only make you feel ugly. Get to know your parents, you never know when they’ll be gone for
good. Be nice to your siblings; they are the best link to your past and the
people most likely to stick with you in the future. Understand that friends come and go,but for the precious few you
should hold on. Work hard to bridge the gaps in geography and
lifestyle because the older you get, the more you need the people you
knew when you were young. Live in New York City once, but leave before it makes you hard; live
in Northern California once, but leave before it makes you soft. Travel. Accept certain inalienable truths, prices will rise, politicians will
philander, you too will get old, and when you do you’ll fantasize
that when you were young prices were reasonable, politicians were
noble and children respected their elders. Respect your elders. Don’t expect anyone else to support you. Maybe you have a trust fund,
maybe you have a wealthy spouse; but you never know when either one
might run out. Don’t mess too much with your hair, or by the time you’re 40, it will
look 85. Be careful whose advice you buy, but, be patient with those who
supply it. Advice is a form of nostalgia, dispensing it is a way of
fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the
ugly parts and recycling it for more than
it’s worth. But trust me on the sunscreen…
Ugh! I really really hate that song Lips of an Angel by Hinder. I’m sorry but everybody who like it is stupid. I even know a girl who told me that it’s her boyfriend’s favorite song and he’s dedicating it to her. I mean listen to the lyrics people! Would you really like to hear your boyfriend singing to you with lines like ” Well, my girl’s in the next room. Sometimes I wish she was you. I guess we never really moved on.” ? Wake up and smell the coffee! Either your boyfriend is stupid or he’s telling you something. *Hint hint* He’s cheating on you with his ex! Don’t be fooled by the wooing melody and deep singing voice, and once again listen to the lyrics. Here, once and for all read and understand the lyrics…
Honey why you calling me so late?
It’s kinda hard to talk right now.
Honey why are you crying? Is everything okay?
I gotta whisper ’cause I can’t be too loud
Well, my girl’s in the next room
Sometimes I wish she was you
I guess we never really moved on
It’s really good to hear your voice say my name
It sounds so sweet
Coming from the lips of an angel
Hearing those words it makes me weak
And I never wanna say goodbye
But girl you make it hard to be faithful
With the lips of an angel
It’s funny that you’re calling me tonight
And, yes, I’ve dreamt of you too
And does he know you’re talking to me
Will it start a fight
No I don’t think she has a clue
Well my girl’s in the next room
Sometimes I wish she was you
I guess we never really moved on
It’s really good to hear your voice say my name
It sounds so sweet
Coming from the lips of an angel
Hearing those words it makes me weak
And I never wanna say goodbye
But girl you make it hard to be faithful
With the lips of an angel
It’s really good to hear your voice say my name
It sounds so sweet
Coming from the lips of an angel
Hearing those words it makes me weak
And I never wanna say goodbye
But girl you make it hard to be faithful
With the lips of an angel
And I never wanna say goodbye
But girl you make it hard to be faithful
With the lips of an angel
Honey why you calling me so late?
Get my drift yet? The guy is cheating on his girlfriend. He’s talking to his ex wishing they were still together. Saying that they never really moved on. What a jerk. Have I already said that I really really hate this song?
